Cherine Spirou - LMC Coordinator, HT Science - Fairvale HSCherine Spirou is currently substantial Head Teacher Science at Fairvale High School and the coordinator of Lachlan Macquarie College. She was seconded to State Office as mEsh project officer for State Office to lead the Stage 6 Resource Writing for the new Stage 6 syllabus, leading a team of 12 teams from across NSW.
Cherine has been a Head Teacher since 2006 and is passionate not only about instilling the importance of science education to students but also the professional development of teachers, including pre-service teachers. She has been lecturing at Western Sydney University in the School of Education since 2011 and loves to impart her passion on these young teachers to share her knowledge and expertise. |

Rosemary Daubney - Assessment and Development Advisor - CESE
Rosemary Daubney is an Assessment and Development Advisor working in the Innovation and Digital Services division of the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE). The main focus of her current work is Science assessment and data analysis. Prior to this recent move, Rosemary was Deputy Principal at Doonside Technology High School where she lead the implementation and evaluation of STEM in the middle school.
Rosemary is a Lachlan Macquarie College (LMC) working party member and assists with the running of various LMC events. She is passionate about STEM education and promoting STEM based careers as an exciting opportunity to the students she teaches.

Jacqueline Dalton - DP Blaxland High School
Jacqueline is a passionate advocate for public education. She is currently Deputy Principal at Blaxland High School. She was previously the Head Teacher Maths at Model Farms High School and the Syllabus Implementation Leader for Mathematics in Western Sydney.
Throughout her teaching career she has been awarded The Excellence in Numeracy, Regional Director's Award for Outstanding School Leadership and the Director General's Award for Service to Public Education. She regularly presents in conferences including presentations on the implications and implementation of the new NSW Mathematics Curriculum for DoE and MANSW. She also presented at the Maths and Science Teachers Conference for the past 5 years.

David Watson - LMC Working Party Member - HT Maths - Fairfield HS
David Watson is Head Teacher Mathematics at Fairfield High School, previously Head Teacher at Cherrybrook Technology High School. David has been teaching since 2007 and Head Teacher since 2011 and has experience developing teaching and learning programs in a range of school settings.
David works with Lachlan Macquarie College to run Gifted and Talented Maths days for students in Stages 4 and 5 around Sydney and in 2017 has commenced work with Eddie Woo and the Teachers Federation Centre for Professional Learning to provide training and support in programming for the new Stage 6 Mathematics courses.

Rebecca West - LMC Working Party Member - AP Bonnyrigg PS @BecWest81
Bec West is an Assistant Principal with experience as a Relieving Principal. She is a proud public educator, lifelong learner, and dedicated leader. Bec is a strong advocate for positive change and future focused learning and was seconded to State Office as the Relieving Primary Advisor for Futures Learning. She continues to be a facilitator of professional learning on Future Focused Learning. She coordinates the LMC Stage 3 Gifted & Talented Maths Competition and this is her 4th year delivering professional learning at the Science and Maths Conference. Bec has recently become known for her YouTube channel, ‘Talkin’ Chalk’, and her dedication to enhancing professional development opportunities for teachers and educational leaders.
Bill Matchett - LMC Working Party Member - HT Science - Macquarie Fields HS
Bill has worked as a Science Teacher in South West Sydney since 1995, starting at Elizabeth Macarthur HS before moving to Westfields Sports HS as Head of Science. He is currently Head of Science at Macquarie Fields HS. Bill is working with LMC developing networks for Science Extension.
He is an experienced HSC marker, and senior HSC marker, and has written text resources for Nelson Cengage, including the Investigating Science in Focus.

Taryn Brady - School Innovation Mentor - Numeracy Mentor -Fairvale Public School
Taryn Brady is the School Innovation Mentor and Numeracy Mentor 3-6 at Fairvale Public School. Taryn has a passion for involving students in real life problem solving, providing opportunities for students that are well beyond that of their daily lives. A lot of this work has been implemented through whole school STEM projects focusing on developing 'STEMPathy'.

Amy Birungi - Numeracy Coordinator DoE
Amy Birungi is the Numeracy Coordinator at State Office. She is currently involved in the development and delivery of professional learning that deepens teacher understanding of the literacy and numeracy progressions and their use in targeting teaching to student need across the curriculum.
